Faith That Saves: Trusting in Christ Alone
The most beautiful truth in all of Scripture is that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own righteousness. Romans 5:1 says, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." This justification, being made right with God, is not based on our works, our background, or our religious efforts. It is granted solely through trusting in the person and sacrifice of Jesus.
Faith is the hand that receives the gift of salvation. It is not our faith that saves us, but the object of our faith, Jesus Christ. When we believe in Him, we are united with His death and resurrection. Our sins are forgiven, our guilt removed, and we are given the righteousness of Christ. This is the miracle of salvation, a complete exchange: our sin for His grace.
To live by faith means to rest in Christ’s finished work. It means we no longer strive to earn God's approval but walk confidently in the truth that we already have it through Jesus. This faith is not a one-time event, but a daily dependence. We believe today, tomorrow, and every day that Jesus is enough. That He is our Savior. That He will keep us to the end.
Salvation by faith teaches us that God is both just and merciful. He satisfied His justice at the cross and offers mercy to all who believe. Have you placed your full trust in Jesus Christ? He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. Believe on Him today and be saved.
