In the volume The Divine Hymnal: A Collection of Hymns of Direct Homage for the Use of the Church, compiled and published in 1860 by Rivingtons, the signature "A. K. B. G-." (or "A. K. B. G.") was used to attribute authorship to Augustus Kerr Bozzi Granville.

Augustus Kerr Bozzi Granville was an English clergyman, educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he famously stroked the university rowing team in the Boat Race of 1836. He was the son of the distinguished physician and writer Dr. Augustus Bozzi Granville.

During his ministry, he served as the first perpetual curate of the newly established parish of St. James, Hatcham, in Deptford, London, from 1845 until 1863. He compiled and contributed original compositions to The Divine Hymnal under the initials of his full family name to maintain personal modesty while providing structured, direct praise liturgies for his congregation. He spent his later years in Durham, serving as the Vicar of Bearpark until his death in 1884.
