“We Believe in One True God” is a hymn written by Tobias Clausnitzer, a German Lutheran pastor and hymn writer, and later translated into English by Catherine Winkworth, who is well known for bringing German hymns into English speaking worship. The hymn is a clear and strong confession of Christian faith, rooted in the unity of God and the core truths of the gospel.
